Spring Into These Pieces

by Fashion Dude on January 23, 2014

Although we are still well in the winter season, I’m ready to ditch winter gear and spring into something more light and cool.  It’s always the right time to incorporate a bit of surf style into one’s wardrobe, and even more so for me as I’m craving a relaxing day at the beach right now.  Personally, I think to pull off this dope style you have to do it with a mastery of mixing.  By subtly infusing certain styles whether it’s surfer, grunge, punk, preppy,.. etc, into your outfit – it can effortlessly enhance your look from everyday boring to mighty rico suave!

One of my favorite shopping spots for a cool, laid back surf-style is Reef.com.  They are well stocked full of easy-going travel, beach apparel and accessories.  Below are my personal must-grabs to enjoy from now until nearly all year long (depending upon where you live or where you might travel)!

A windbreaker is a wardrobe essential especially for those who are not fans of heavy coats.  The Reef Squall Jacket hoodie is not only waterproof but equipped with an adjustable hood to keep you nice and dry in the rain.  I’m also digging the overall style of these mid-top cruisers.  Casual & lightweight, they are perfect for hanging out at the beach paired with shorts or with jeans for a night out.  Plus the black/gray hue gives off a bit of vintage appeal.

You’ve got to own at least a couple of colorful denims to go with basic pieces already in your closet.  The slim fit will help elongate your legs which mean they will make you look taller and slimmer – instead of short & stubby!  This teal pair is versatile enough for year round wear – definitely sweet with the shoes above.  Last but not least, one weakness I have when it comes to accessories is travel bags aka duffel bags.  Similar to shoes, what you carry adds just as much weight to your overall style.  Reef’s Backpacker carry on duffel has a cool mix of sporty and army making it versatile enough going from the airport to the gym.

Speaking of the gym, I’m more determined than ever about being fit and healthy.  It’s not just a mere goal of losing weight but rather healthy eating and consistent workouts have become a part of my life.  Hope you can drop the notion of dieting and force yourself to get the gym and ultimately enjoy the progression of feeling great and looking great!
